Tell us a bit about yourself and your experience
Hi I’m Dan! I am truly an entrepreneur at heart and have found my passion in investing in technology that I see value in. My journey began in 2013 when I founded DW Reporting to meet law firm's complex business intelligence (BI), reporting, pricing, and financial data management needs. The company experienced rapid growth and was acquired by BigHand in 2018. I stayed with the company as Director and Board Member, whilst continuing to address and advise on operational efficiencies and profitability gains within the Business of Law.
During my involvement in said companies, I noticed the lack of technology support for in-house Legal Departments. Xakia's corporate legal matter management software would have increased their operational efficiencies tenfold, so when they came on the scene I was immediately interested.
Today I am the CEO at Oliella Partners, which provides entrepreneurial organizations with access to operational, product strategy and sales and marketing executive support. I saw potential in Xakia so I wanted to invest and provide the team with my guidance and now I am the VP of the EMEA region! I love representing Xakia at LegalTech events and am excited to see how big the company is in 5 years.

Do you have any hidden talents most people don't know about?
I am fluent in sign language!
My Xakia tip
My cool Xakia tip is using our Email Add-in feature (Outlook and Gmail) to save email threads and attachments into the matter document management system. You can even create new matters directly from the Add-in which will scrape content from the body of the email too.
